Eskers Restoration

Restoring Eskers Provincial Park

Habitat Construction

The Eskers restoration project is a great place to both enhance wildlife habitat (given the paucity of trees….and old trees specifically) and to demonstrate wildlife habitat enhancements that can be done in other areas.

On a fairly warm winter day ORTM students had a work bee constructing duck nesting boxes, bat houses, mason bee habitats and osprey and waterfowl nesting platforms. These habitats will be installed in the 2018 season.
